This post explains the process of directly accessing the SMARTplayer/-streamer from a PC when no network or router is available. This allows configurations of the NewTec control software to be made on-site during the construction phase, even without an existing or functioning network, for later use.
FOR NETWORK AND IT TECHNICIANS #
On your PC/laptop, set up any static IP of Class C, for example, 192.168.0.150.
After connecting your PC/laptop via an Ethernet cable, start the SMARTplayer/-streamer by interrupting and restoring the power supply. Within the first 7 seconds of the booting process, aim the remote control at the device and press the following buttons in sequence: OFF/VOL+/OFF.
Now, the SMARTplayer/-streamer is accessible at the following address:
Class C IP Address: 192.168.0.192
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
To start the software, simply open your preferred web browser and insert either ‘http://smartplayer.local‘ or the IP address ‘192.168.0.192’ in the address bar.
DIRECT ACCESS WITHOUT IT KNOWLEDGE #
